Leap Year

Can I just say that Amy Adams was excellent in this movie? Oh, was she amazing! Anna O'Brady, a lady who designs rooms to present them to sellers for a sale, thinks she is in love with her boyfriend of 4 years. After her hopes of a proposal one night at dinner are washed down the drain, and he leaves for Ireland, she decides to follow him there, and propose to him on February 29th, since it was a leap year, and girls are allowed to do so that one day. But before she is able to get to where she is going, a storm warning makes their plane land early where she does NOT want to go, and she is either stuck at the airport for a day, or tries to find her own way of getting to Dublin, Ireland. She chooses to go. After a bunch of different rides that fail to help her reach her destination, she ends up staying the night in a small inn owned by a man (Declan) who knows much, speaks little, and laughs at her. After much negotiation and then a threat from someone to close his inn, he accepts her offer of a certain amount of money to take her there, but on their way,  they loose his car, and are forced to find another way there. I am not going to ruin the middle or ending of this movie, as it is waaaaaaaaaaay too good for that. =D =D May I just say that the locations where they shots this movie are SPECTACULAR, to die for places that I would very much not mind visiting for a long time. =) =) Amy Adams, Matthew Goode, and several others starr in this beautiful romantic, funny movie. Seriously, it was so hard to keep from completely laughing my head off while on the plane watching this. x) 100 minutes long, rated PG for sensuality (some sort of inappropriate but not things) and a couple words, most I didn't even understand because of the heavy Irish accents. haha x)  Totally one of my favorite favorite favorite (if not my favorite) movies right now. 5+ stars on this one! =) Amy Adams was incredible. =D =D

Monsters Vs Aliens

haha I love this movie. Totally one of my favorites. =) This cartoon starts out with a wedding. Susan, a normal modern-day young woman wakes up on her wedding day, gets ready, and goes out a while before the wedding to enjoy the moment. Her fiance, Derrick, comes out and talks with her, saying he changed their honeymoon location from Paris to some unheard-of place because of a job audition as a weatherman. She hides her disappointment and watches him leave with a half-hearted smile. While walking back to the church, she sees a meteor and runs, but ends up getting hit by it. During the ceremony, the beautiful bride starts to glow in a strange green hue, then starts to blow up to at least 20 stories high. After being tranquilized and relocated to a hidden location, she meets 4 monsters: a giant cockroach scientist who loves doing the evil scientist laugh and wears a white lab coat, a big blue blob of....er...whatever he is. lol His name is Bob, and he has no brain, but "It turns out, you don't need one!" haha =D She also meets a strange, giant lizard guy who thinks he is a very strong, amazing creature who 'gets girls' and 'defeats hundreds of strong men' uh, yeah, in your very common dreams. haha All of these guys are about the size of her hand, btw. She also meets Insectisaurus, a giant moth thing that is very, very tall. About the size of 4-10 of Susans. lol Anyways, she goes through some big adventures and learns her strengths, all of which she didn't realize she had. The earth gets attacked/invaded by a mad alien trying to get a substance which was placed in Susan's body when she was hit by the meteor, that made her huge. This movie is soooooooooooo good, let me tell you. I love it. Packed full of hilarious jokes, most of which the kids laugh at as well, and also quote...I find myself quoting things from this movie a lot. haha =D Reece Witherspoon is in this movie (Susan), as well as Seth Rogan (Bob), Hugh Laurie (Dr Cockroach), and many more. Rated PG for some mild, mild language, crude-ish humor, and some action that can scare little children under the age of 2. 94 minutes long, and so worth it. Great movie!! =) =) =)

Old Dogs

Robin Williams and John Travolta star in this fantastic, PG rated comedy. Despite all his language-filled movies, (Robin) this one was very clean and so funny. I was surprised at how funny it was. Two old men are best friends, old pals, co-workers, and much more. After hearing from his ex-wife and finding out he has two children, twins, Robin's character goes on adventure with his buddy to care for the kids for 2 weeks while his wife is in jail. He is, as he says, 'allergic' to children, and for the first week or so, struggles with his bud to keep the kids amused, out of expensive things, and happy. They go through maaaaaaany funny adventures in this movie. So good. 88 minutes long, full of things you will laugh at, and you will find that these two actors go so well together as old pals. haha =) I am not positive if I would let any kids under the age of 8 or 9 watch it, but it is still safe. Very well done. =)

Coco Before Chanel

Coco Chanel is a very famous lady, having changed the fashion world forever, in more than a few ways. She starts out in this movie as a very poor girl, barely getting through life by sewing during the day time, and singing at night time, working with her beloved sister. Coco is no typical girl, however. She is totally against the 'silly, ridiculous' styles of the day, and wore mens clothing instead of the corsets, feathered hats, and crazy skirts. She makes some friends, but after her sister moves away to someday get married, she moved to the house of a man she met while working one night, and from there learned how to ride and care for horses, made more friends, and started making hats and such for the ladies who at first throught they were too plain, but then came back more and more as everyone loved the style. This movie is all in the French language, with a couple British words, but not many. haha It is something you would want to wait to see till you are a little older, I think. I had it filtered, as it is rated PG-13 for many, many scenes and crazy sensual things in it. Oh, and some smoking. lol I actually found it annoying how much smoking was in this movie. It is 105 minutes, has amazing actors, including Audrey Tautou, Benoit Poelvoorde, and Alessandro Nivola, who you have probably not heard of, but are all extremely talented. haha  This is actually a really, really good movie, that is very touching and helps you see what type of life people had back then.  Not one of my favorites, but this is still very good, and I plan on watching it again, someday. =)

Alice in Wonderland

Wow. I am very much surprised at my reactions when watching this movie. Once again, I re-learn the 'don't judge a book by it's cover' saying. I thought this movie would be a very creepy, terrible movie. I also thought that they completely butchered everything about the book and original movie. No, that is not the case. This movie's time frame really takes place when Alice is a 19 year old girl with many obligations. She has the same dream over and over every single night of Wonderland, a place with talking animals and crazy queens obsessed with red roses and cutting off heads. But after being proposed to by a slightly disturbing guy, Alice runs off to think about it, and falls into a hole after chasing a rabbit wearing clothing and holding a watch. This movie takes her through the Underland, what she had called Wonderland before. I shall not tell you what happens. =) This movie may be slightly disturbing in a few ways, and kinda scary-ish in others. And no, they did not chop up the story or her original dress. This is the continuation of the first movie, and the reason she wears different dresses is because she shrinks and gets big again, over and over. It has Johnny Depp (who, might I add, was a very good Mad-Hatter, and was totally hilarious at times =) ), Mia Wasikowska (a very new, beautiful and amazing actress), Anne Hathaway, and many other amazing actors and actresses directed by Tim Burton. It is rated PG, mainly for scary action scenes and disturbing images, and is 108 minutes long. I very, very much enjoyed this movie, and it is now among my favorites. =)
