Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Theif

Wow. haha This movie really caught me by surprise, yet it didn't. Okay, so this past month I have been hearing lots about the 'gods' and such, and we watched a couple movies with them, including this one. But this one is by far the best. Not only because it was made by Chris Columbus (Director of Harry Potter =D). Percy, an average teenager, lives with his mom and rather annoying 'step-dad' in an apartment. He spends his free time hanging out with his best friend, Grover, at the swimming pool. Most of the time. Percy suffers from what everyone thinks as ADHD, and several other problems as well. He always sees words swimming in his head that he is reading, which, if in a certain language, are translated for him. After a substitute teacher turns into a beast one day in a museum and threatens him, trying to make him give up a 'Lightning Rod', his whole life changes. Percy finds out that he is the son of a god, Poseidon, and is himself a demi-god, a half human half god. He meets many people, some friends, some not, and travels across the United States to find certain things to take him on a certain journey to save the whole world. I will not give it away. Though I am a Christian, and do believe in only one God, the true, real God who created this world and everything in it, I still find this movie a very good, very amusing one, a good education for learning about the Greek mythology and such. I had lots of laughs. heheh I like laughing at various random things, and this movie was packed. =D Rated PG for lots of action violence, peril, suggestive materials, and mild language, and is around 118 minutes long, starring Logan Lerman, Brandon T. Jackson, and Alexandria Daddario. =) Great movie, I would so give it 5 stars. =D
